There are different types of elements used in the graphic design and they include text, images, shapes, and many others. These design elements act as a building block for the graphic designers to make simple as well as complex images. Let us discuss some of these elements.
The basic element of a graphic is line. Lines are of different types and can be used to join different points. Lines have different properties which include length, thickness, context, and many more. Lines are used to draw different kinds of shapes and to also provide emotions to a graphic.
Different formats of a line are as follows:
Shapes are of different types and are used to make designs. Two types of shapes are used to make a graphic and they include geometric shapes and organic shapes. Geometric shapes can be either three-dimensional or two-dimensional. The shapes are made by using curved or straight lines.
Colors can be used to add emotions to a graphic. The graphic can be designed through either single color or a combination of different colors. There are different categories of colors which are as follows:
1. Primary colors
The primary colors used in graphic designing are red, blue, and yellow. These colors can be mixed in different combinations to make other types of colors. These colors are called primary colors because combination of different colors cannot make these colors.
2. Secondary colors
The secondary colors include violet, green, and orange. The mixing of the primary colors in different proportions can make these secondary colors.
3. Tertiary colors
The combination of primary and secondary colors makes tertiary colors.
Different types of textures can be given to a graphic. These textures include glossy, rough, soft, and many more. A graphic designer has to master all these techniques to provide a professional look to the graphics.
